I know many of you are eager to know and understand our weekly routine in 4th Grade Language Arts. With a new reading series and the beginning of the new school year we are still trying to learn each other and the material. This is a rough sketch of our weekly routine, with a big disclaimer that it is subject to change!
Monday:
Introduce spelling words
Assign Spelling/Vocabulary Tic Tac Toe Boards (This are distributed monthly. Students are expected to complete 2 spelling and 1 vocabulary assignment each week due every Thursday.)
Introduce Vocabulary
Introduce Skill/Strategy
Tuesday:
Read Weekly story with students and analyze text
Complete independent reading page in Reader's Notebook
Spelling/Vocabulary work
Wednesday:
Target Vocabulary worksheet (if not completed in class will be assigned for homework)
Target Skill
Thursday:
Spelling/Vocabulary Tic Tac Toe due
Spelling test
Independent read with graphic organizer
Friday
Weekly story assessment
I will be adding to this schedule as we move through the year. Right now we are working on our routine and getting into the swing of thing.
